they said there was nothing they could do for the 'turn-off-when-touched' thing, "Just don't touch it", and that there was nothing wrong with the screen. They just played with my settings to brighten it =_='
it's just like, when your car starts making a funny noise, and you take it to the... car vet... (help me out here >.>
well Ed cost me $68.75. Not too bad I guess, but the very next day, it did that random turny-offy thing again, and on reboot, lost the screen back-lighting AGAIN. Thankfully, this time only for a few minutes. long enough for me to loose all my currant work, flip out, and swear a lot.
so I've been super careful with it, limping it along.... yesterday I forgot and touched the corner again. Off it went. lost all my school work >.<'
so today I bought a MacBook Pro.
$2262.49.
the most money I've ever spent in one place.
I'm still getting use to the keys.
Mac Command = Window's Control (I have no idea what Mac Control does)
Mac Delete = Window's Backspace (Mac has no Windows delete function... that sucks. I used delete more than backspace XD)
alt is titled Option
enter is titled Return
it has the [fn] key, but I can't find any functions XD
it also has this random 'up' arrow with a line under it. I'm afraid to push that one... I think it's eject >.>
in any case, it needs a name. It's so pretty and dainty, I almost want to give it a feminine name, but that feels weird. All of our computers have been guys... except for Samantha, but she belonged to dad.
so now to download programs for it 8D
will add to this list as I realize what I'm missing... this part is just for me... you can quit reading now >.>
my list:
[x] browser - firefox
[x] messenger - aMSN (one of two really crappy MSN's for mac) No Plus! Live D:
[x] GIF animator - GIFfun
[x] Word possessor - AbiWord and Bean
[ ] 'excel' replacement - ?
[ ] solitaire and other games because this thing just comes with chess >.<'
[/] media players - Realplayer and... that other one...
[x] art programs - Gimp, Chocoflop, Art Of Illusion.... I need recommendations for this.

I never liked Mac, Windows was easier for me. Good luck with getting use to it !

there are diffidently some things where Windows is easier, but some where I was really surprised... like installing programs. after downloading, just drag the program from the download folder to the applications folder, and BAM! installed XD none of this 'wait a few seconds, click accept, and wait some more" stuff
*is really impatient apparently*
thank you very much, I'll need it

You spent that much money!?!?
Damn...that issues with the laptop probably could have been fixed.
I can't wait to see my picture XD

I could have bought a cheaper one, but this one is made from metal and glass, slightly stronger than the last one XD
and I probably could have waited until it came down in price, but I wanted to get all my stuff moved over before ED dies
as for Ed being fixable, I don't know... They basically told me it was on it's last leg. The random turn off thingy isn't fixable, and the back-lighting problem seems to stem from that.
I'm still going to keep it though. I get really attatched to inanimate objects XD I just won't do anything important on it... like school, or art projects.

The only inanimate objects I get attached to are sentimental ones.
Letters, cards, you know.
lol I can't wait until tomorrow when I can sit down and play with it X3
